Introducing the Visium™ Set-Back Box.
Sold in Master Cartons of 12 Units.
ATX’s Visium Set-Back Box (SBB) is a low-cost, Pro:Idiom™-compatible security adapter designed to enable hotels and other commercial properties to instantly upgrade guest experiences and bring non-commercial class televisions into compliance with increasingly stringent video security requirements.
A pocket-size powerhouse, the ATX Visium™ SBB, with built-in Interactive Program Guide (IPG), enables hospitality venues with older and non-commercial televisions to provide content security, an enhanced user experience and legacy TV adaptation, freeing businesses of the potential expense of replacing dozens or even hundreds of televisions, depending on the size of the business.
With ATX’s Visium™ Set-Back Box (SBB) hospitality businesses have access to upgrade options that can quickly and cost-efficiently improve their in-room entertainment offering. The Visium™ SBB, a low-cost, Pro:Idiom™-compatible security adapter is designed to enable enterprises to instantly make noncommercial television sets compatible with content security requirements, the latest compression formats and support an Interactive Program Guide.

Benefits:
Security Compliance – Brings commercial properties being served with clear QAM video into compliance with content
protection obligations by enabling non-commercial TVs to receive Pro:Idiom encryption.
Enhanced User Experience – Enables hospitality venues to enhance guest-viewing experiences by providing Interactive Program Guide functionality for customers with bulk video service delivered centrally or through a gateway.
Cost Efficiencies – Priced to enable service providers to deliver a secure and enhanced viewing experience at a price point that enables meaningful return on investment.
Legacy TV Adaptation – Enables commercial video service providers to deliver MPEG4-based service delivery to properties with MPEG2- only TVs.
Deployment Simplicity – Orchestrates basic bulk management without integration into MSO residential backend and conditional access control systems, vastly simplifying deployments into hospitality and commercial environments.
Network Simplification – The Visium SBB’s support for IGMP v3 alleviates the need for dense-mode multicast switches throughout premises, enabling service providers to reduce network complexity and costs.
Guaranteeing the security of high-definition video streams is now a strict requirement of commercial entities delivering television programming to guests and residents. Compliance with this requirement could be costly for commercial venues with television sets that are incapable of supporting standard encryption technology, potentially forcing businesses to replace existing TVs.
In addition to securing video content, the ATX Visium SBB, a Pro:Idiom™- compatible, pocket-size plug-in, enables enterprises using non-commercial and older televisions to support the latest and most efficient compression formats. Additional capabilities include an integrated Interactive Program Guide (IPG) that will enable guests and residents to easily navigate increasingly large channel line-ups, which often exceed 100 live channels. By stuffing multiple guest experience-improving capabilities into a lowcost adapter, the Visium SBB offers hotels and other commercial sites an
economical means to kick start the enhancement of in-room television services, which some observers believe will be crucial in attracting customers in a Post-COVID recovery environment.
Easy Installation:
The initial set-up of the Visium SBB is purposely simple. The SBB will need to be associated with the Visium Manager. That means installation only requires the SBB to know how to access the local network, where it is being deployed, as well as the address of the SBB deployer’s instance of the cloud based Visium Manager. For on-site technical personnel, set-up is basically a plug-in and walk-away type of operation.
Next, the SBB will call home and establish a secure connection to the Visium Manager cloud instance. From there, the SBB can be associated to the appropriate property and will automatically pull the appropriate configuration file and configure itself.
The Visium SBB is essentially technology agnostic. The adapter will work in any end-user environment, regardless of the video source. The Visium SBB is compatible with all bulk media gateways, rack-and-stack headends or direct feeds. Similarly, the device is agnostic to whether the feed is coming from a cable or satellite provider, or any other video source. The Deployment Architecture Overview graphic depicts the Visium SBB’s potential deployment options.
